About The Role

 

The Senior Project Manager reports directly to the Operations Director and will have an in-depth knowledge of Infrastructure/Civil construction projects. 

  

As a Senior Project Manager at Graham you will: 

 

  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interests and maintain good relationships with client 

  • Ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule  

  • Assist, review and negotiate contracts; liaising with legal counsel, as appropriate, in conjunction with Operations Manager 

  • Develop, recommend and implement the project plan, after being awarded the project 

  • Coach/mentor, provide direction, and review the performance of personnel reporting directly to the Project Manager  

  • Monitor and control progress, costs and budgets throughout the project 

  • Identify and mitigate risks 

  • Act to resolve disputes between the Company and owner, or Company and subcontractors when possible prior to escalating  

  • Identify required and optional changes in project scope; negotiate change orders with the owner 

  • Manage claims and claims avoidance 

  • Have knowledge of the business unit portfolio 

  • Manage a team with regards to Internal relations and human resourcing 

  • Promote upskilling and further learning 

  • Be involved with industry and Company organizations and social events 

  

Qualifications/Experience:  

        

  • Civil, mechanical, electrical  or Structural Engineering degree or related technical degree 

  • At least 7+ years’ experience leading Infrastructure Projects ($25-300 million) with a General Contractor 

  • Knowledge/experience on water or wastewater projects along with concrete projects 

  • Business unit portfolio experience 

  • Experience with running multiple jobs 

  • Projects with BC Hydro or Fortis BC considered an asset 

  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of construction: technology, equipment, materials, bid management, claims management and safety 

 

Compensation: 

 

  • $131,000 - $160,000 per annum 

  • Salary with commensurate with education and experience
