About the Role:

 

Reporting to the Operations Manager or Construction Manager, the Senior Project Manager is accountable for providing project management and direction for a project, ensuring timely completion and profitability for all projects. The individual is involved in project planning and start-up, project financials, project pre-construction, project execution and close-out, and HSE and Q, and maintains a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations. 

 

As a Senior Project Manager at Graham, you will:

 

  • Ensure the successful completion of the project, its profitability, and for retaining the owner as a continuing client of the Graham
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy
  • Ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
  • Contribute as appropriate to the pre-award process by determining project scope, planning and estimating
  • Monitor/control construction progress through administrative direction of on-site project personnel to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implements corrective measures
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interests and maintains good relationships with client
  • Provide overall administrative and technical direction to projects, from bid preparation to final acceptance by client, by ensuring that the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
  • Assist, review and negotiate contracts; liaises with legal counsel as appropriate in conjunction with Department Manager
  • Develop, recommend and implement the project plan after the project is awarded.
  • Assemble key personnel for the project 
  • Select subcontractors for projects
  • Monitor and control progress, costs and budgets throughout the project
  • Advise the Department Manager on project status and results in a timely fashion
  • Resolve disputes between the Company and Owner, or Company and subcontractors when possible prior to Department Manager’s involvement
  • Identify required and optional changes in project scope; negotiates change orders with the owner
  • Ensure that project staff understands the Company’s operating policies and practices, and applies these policies appropriately
  • Hire, coach/mentor, provide direction and review the performance of personnel reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager
  • Maintain safety standards in all aspects of each project

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is required.
  • 10-15 years of direct construction project management experience required. Depending upon the project size, scope, and complexity, the years of experience may vary.
  • Solid technical proficiency in project KPIs and the three core areas of Estimating, Field Management, and Project Management.
  • Ability to make recommendations and take action based on technical proficiency.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling and project management software.

 

Compensation:

 

  • $127,200-$174,900 per annum
  • Salary will commensurate with education and experience.
