About The Role:
Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, the HSE Supervisor is a position in our organization responsible for ensuring company management and workers comply with OH&S/OSHA Regulations, our HSE Management System, and municipal/client safety guidelines. The HSE Supervisor leads and supervises a team of Senior HSE Coordinators on industrial projects throughout British Columbia.
As a HSE Supervisor at Graham you will:

Set a good example, demonstrate a positive safety attitude and abide by the Safety Code of Ethics

Provide direction, support and leadership to Senior HS&E Coordinators

Identify cultural and behavioural issues related to HSE, and drive a step-change in safety behaviours

Build mutually respectful and constructive relationships with project management teams and front line supervision

Provide leadership, coaching and training

Develop/maintain an organization which embraces a commitment to safety and environmental excellence, concepts of best practice, continuous improvement and team work

Participate in and/or provide direction to others conducting incident investigations, review site incident investigations, including making recommendations to senior management to eliminate or control future risk

Provide recommendations for implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Experience:
-
Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of post-secondary education, trade certification or training and work experience

NCSO, CRSP or CSP certified or equivalent
-
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Health and Safety field
-
2 years Supervisory experience
-
5 years construction industry experience

Comprehensive working knowledge of OH&S/OSHA Acts & Regulations

Have broad knowledge of local government Health & Safety Acts, Policies, Regulations, and Industry Standards as they apply to the construction industry

Requirement to travel (70%) within BC to fulfill job duties

Be a results oriented leader capable of working productively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

Experience in quality (QA&QC) is an asset

Have thorough knowledge and experience in health and safety management systems and program implementation

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking

Strong mentoring skills

Possess the demonstrated ability to motivate self and others

Demonstrated leadership, project management, and conflict resolution skills
