We are seeking top-tier talent to join our Infrastructure division and build innovative projects in the transit and transportation sectors, such as roads, highways/freeways, bridges, interchanges, LRTs, BRTs, and airports. About The Role

Work will include project support, client liaison, project planning, implementation, and delivery including data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting with the potential to contribute to peer-reviewed presentations at relevant scientific conferences. This position comes with opportunities for career advancement and professional growth. Please note that this project is located in the Yukon. Flights from Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver are provided.

 

As a Biologist at Graham, you will:

  • Plan, execute and manage baseline studies, environmental effects assessments, and regulatory permitting submissions, including coordinating inputs from a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Manage project tasks independently within approved scopes of work and budgets.
  • Lead or oversee a crew conducting various field studies including aquatic habitat assessments, fish salvage, invertebrate, water, and sediment sampling, and monitoring and management of instream construction effects.
  • Manage environmental projects and integrate the results of environmental and regulatory facilitation into engineering and design projects.
  • Provide expertise in understanding and interpreting applicable legislation, requirements, and best practices.
  • Prepare applications and support consultation with Municipal, Provincial, and Federal governments to secure regulatory approvals and permits.
  • Provide high-value technical services to develop positive relationships with our key clients, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Collaborate with our talented professionals across multiple disciplines.
  • Participate in our sustainability, safety, social, and other committees.
  • Travel within Canada, primarily in Alberta, Yukon, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Master of Science with a specialization in aquatic ecology, environmental assessments, and/or fisheries management.
  • Professional Biologist certification (or eligibility to obtain this designation).
  • 10 plus years of professional experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Confidence in your expertise, ensuring clear communication to your audience.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a working environment where you are the subject matter expert.
  • Experience developing and/or conducting critical reviews of monitoring programs, study designs, or regulatory requirements (e.g., Environmental Assessment approvals, and permitting).
  • Competence with field equipment and logistics.
  • Experience developing and managing complex projects including proposals, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility.
  • Willingness to work in challenging environments and ability to travel as needed for project assignments.
