Graham is actively recruiting a Senior Environmental Specialist to support the Infrastructure Division. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, this role supports the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of the project’s Environmental Management System (EMS).  

 

Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site 

  • Maintain compliance with the Environmental Management System (EMS) by ensuring all project activities meet contractual, regulatory, and Graham environmental requirements.
  • Support environmental requirements across all project phases, including pre‑construction, procurement, and construction, with responsibility for permitting, approvals, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead environmental monitoring and inspections covering erosion and sediment control, water quality, waste and materials management, wildlife protection, spill prevention/response, and sustainability commitments.
  • Conduct regular field inspections and site assessments to confirm construction activities comply with environmental legislation, Environmental Management Plans, and contractual obligations.
  • Advise project teams on environmental performance, identifying non‑conformances, recommending corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement.

 

The Right Tools for the Job 

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Management, Ecology, Biology, or a related field; professional certifications (P.Eng, CET, ISO, CAN‑CISEC) are considered assets.
  • Experience: 5+ years of environmental monitoring experience in construction or consulting environments
  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting, inspections, erosion and sediment control, and compliance reporting.

 

Compensation

  • Salary Range $115,000 to $130,000 per annum
  • Compensation aligned to education and experience, ensuring fair and competitive placement
  • Three to five weeks of vacation, with additional credit for prior industry experience
