About the Role 

 

Graham is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead design management for major building construction projects in Ontario—and to dig deep into complex design challenges. This role goes beyond oversight; you’ll actively engage in solving intricate design problems for some of the region’s most exciting infrastructure projects, including state-of-the-art healthcare facilities. 

 

As the design lead for the Ontario Buildings Division, you’ll execute the design vision, ensuring strategies are translated into practical, high-quality solutions. You’ll build and mentor a talented design management team, foster collaboration, and guide consultant partners to deliver exceptional results. You’ll be joining a high-performing, passionate group of professionals who thrive on teamwork and innovation, making this an opportunity to influence outcomes while working alongside some of the best in the industry.

What You’ll Do 

 

  • Execute design strategies across all phases of major building projects
  • Enforce design policies, procedures, and compliance standards
  • Identify and mitigate design risks while optimizing cost and efficiency
  • Build and lead a high-performing design management team
  • Oversee consultant teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
  • Drive clash detection and design coordination for flawless execution
  • Audit design documents to meet performance specifications and industry benchmarks
  • Lead Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) throughout execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver best-in-class solutions

 

What You Bring 

 

  • Extensive experience in hospital and long-term care facility design preferred
  • Degree in Engineering or Architecture (LEED, PMP, and P.Eng are assets)
  • 15+ years in construction design management 
  • Familiarity with Lean or IPD projects is an advantage 
  • Proven success in Design-Build procurement methods
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and BIM tools
  • Strong working knowledge of Navisworks (3D & 4D) and REVIT
