About the Role
Graham is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead design management for major building construction projects in Ontario—and to dig deep into complex design challenges. This role goes beyond oversight; you’ll actively engage in solving intricate design problems for some of the region’s most exciting infrastructure projects, including state-of-the-art healthcare facilities.
As the design lead for the Ontario Buildings Division, you’ll execute the design vision, ensuring strategies are translated into practical, high-quality solutions. You’ll build and mentor a talented design management team, foster collaboration, and guide consultant partners to deliver exceptional results. What You’ll Do
- Execute design strategies across all phases of major building projects.
- Enforce design policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Identify and mitigate design risks while optimizing cost and efficiency.
- Build and lead a high-performing design management team.
- Oversee consultant teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Drive clash detection and design coordination for flawless execution.
- Audit design documents to meet performance specifications and industry benchmarks.
- Lead Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) throughout execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver best-in-class solutions.
What You Bring
- Extensive experience in hospital and long-term care facility design preferred.
- Degree in Engineering or Architecture (LEED, PMP, and P.Eng are assets).
- 15+ years in construction design management.
- Familiarity with Lean or IPD projects is an advantage.
- Proven success in Design-Build procurement methods.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and BIM tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Navisworks (3D & 4D) and REVIT.
