About the Role:

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Project Manager is accountable for providing bid support, pre-construction, project management and direction for all scopes of work to ensure bid success and timely completion and profitability of active projects. The Project Manager is further involved in project planning and start-up, project financials, project execution and close-out. This role represents an opportunity for a Project Manager to take true ownership of an infrastructure project from bid to completion.

 

As a Project Manager at Graham you will:

  • Working with the Senior Operations Manager and collaborating with the Proposals and Estimating teams on bid process and proposal submissions.
  • Manage the subcontracting process, which includes facilitating initial scope review meetings, finalizing agreed processes, developing subcontract scopes of work, and managing the subcontract distribution and final execution process. 
  • Direct the process of determining the quantity of budget estimates / deliverables to the client. 
  • Hire key personnel and subcontractors for the project
  • Manage the project administration and daily operations, escalating issues as necessary. 
  • Maintain a timespan of control of up to 10 months for the project(s).
  • Manage the project schedule and milestone dates, and ensure that close-out checklists are prepared and maintained during the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain relationships and communication tools as needed with suppliers and other key project personnel to verify that materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and personnel are obtained and / or delivered when required.
  • Review performance standards and metrics against which the project team will be measured during an active project.
  • Monitor the change management process, which includes identifying change events, submitting change notices, pricing and tracking change work, optional changes in project scope, and negotiating change orders with clients.
  • Ensure that the project site and company assets are secure, and maintain a safe and respectful working environment at all times.

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in Construction Management.
  • Preference for full cycle project experience within infrastructure, heavy civil, water, etc.
  • Solid technical proficiency in project KPIs and the three core areas of Estimating, Field Management, and Project Management.
  • Proficiency in estimate preparation, forecasting, pricing, risk/claim management, contract management, profit and loss responsibility, scheduling, and quality.
  • Experience and acumen required to anticipate client requirements and work proactively regarding risk and claim management, and ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Balanced leadership and technical skills.
