About the role:

As a Senior Proposal Professional (internally referred to as a Proposal Specialist) you will report directly to the Proposal Team Lead or District Senior Management (i.e. Large Projects Lead, Pre-Construction Lead, District Lead) while delivering meaningful proposals to clients of both public and private construction projects. As a Senior Proposal Professional in a General Contractor, you will help to lead our responses to Requests for Proposals and Information by coordinating with the larger business (Senior Leaders, Project Managers, Estimators, Schedulers, etc.) in order to provide quality writing, striking layouts, and client focused content within or proposals. The Senior Proposal Professional will work on a variety of proposal support activities and project styles while having a firm understanding of identifying client requirements and working with multiple team members to lead in the development of response materials (i.e. resume libraries, project summaries, etc.) and manage overarching proposal deliverables. As a senior professional within the team, you will lead the creation of cohesive and coherent narratives for both proposals and presentations, manage proposal timeslines and schedules and present the best final product possible for delivery.

 

As a Senior Proposal Professional you will:

  • Lead in the development of a proposal process and proposal schedule for delivery of a product that effectively communicates Graham's capabilities and value of service in the highest of quality
  • Work within InDesign to lead in the construction of a strong, visually striking RFP response.
  • Identify proposal response requirements and ensure required team members needed for the response have updated/downloaded client documentation
  • Communicate requirements to the team through an understanding of solicitation document(s), response deliverables and submission schedules
  • Build a compliance matrix for each proposal and follow the proposal schedule, ensuring all team members are completing their tasks by the due date required
  • Schedule and lead proposal kick-off meetings while communicating the responsibilities that will be assigned to each member of the response team (including yourself)
  • Use kick-off meetings to help develop win strategies, themes, key messages and company differentiators/services that can help increase proposal success
  • Hold business unit leaders accountable to proposal compliance and facilitate review meetings as necessary
  • Write and edit narratives for understanding, grammar, and readability as one voice that is consistant through document libraries for resumes, project fact sheets, etc.
  • Developpresentations, e-bulletins, and other internal and external communications and documentation as required

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a proposals role
  • General Contractor experience or knowledge of the construction industry through consulting is preferred
  • Completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school, or a university bachelor program. (i.e. Literature, Marketing, Construction Management or Communications Degrees) combined with advanced communication and writing skills
  • Experience leading proposals, including kick-off meetings, proposal schedules/timelines, deliverables, etc. under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite, MS Office Suite, and SharePoint
  • Experience with InDesign
