As a member of our Equipment, Shops & Yards group, you will support our various project divisions with their equipment needs to ensure the successful execution of projects; while also meeting business and unit holder objectives.  We own and operate a diverse fleet of operated, non-operated and dedicated specialty equipment and assets. Our overall objective within our team is to be operations first call for anything equipment related at Graham.

 

Summary

The Regional Equipment Manager  is responsible for management of the regional shops and yards as well as deployment and maintenance of equipment in the region, and is the primary liaison between Operations and ESY, working hard to ensure Operations’ equipment needs are met while finding all opportunities to deploy Graham owned equipment. The incumbent is responsible for escalation of issues, coaching and mentoring, removing obstacles, driving process and procedure, and upholding and reinforcing safety, maintenance, and brand standards, and relies on the supervisor to recommend process improvements. The incumbent works closely with Supply Chain and purchase managers to establish and maintain master service agreements.

 

Essential Functions

Execution

  • Ensure the team is following the proper safety standards, and assume ultimate accountability.
  • Coordinate decisions about repairs.
  • Manage the deployment of resources.
  • Contribute to the estimating process as it relates to project equipment needs.
  • Understand the business life cycle of the equipment needed on a project.
  • Set expectations; learn and understand the needs of the business so that functional knowledge can be applied to the project.
  • Consider recommendations from operations on the use of the equipment.
  • Influence solutions and alternatives and make a business case for repairs and purchases.

 

Planning and Process

  • Plan the mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
  • Ensure the best equipment decisions are being made for the business and for the project.
  • Ensure the team is following the processes.

 

Financial Accountabilities

  • Manage and set the shop budget ($1-5M).
  • Contribute to the Repair and Maintenance budget (manage the spend but ultimate accountability is with the director) ($3-10M).
  • Contribute to the Capital budgeting process ($15-25M).

 

Client Focus

  • Educate the client and ensure thorough understanding of the support process.
  • Act as the face of and first point of contact for ESY in the region on projects.
  • Ensure problems are solved and issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Understand the needs of internal customers and manage expectations appropriately.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum high school diploma, with completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction- and or equipment-related industry experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with other geographic locations, remote managing, and joint-venture are all assets.
  • Functional knowledge of equipment applications.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and SAP.
