About the Role:

 

The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance and rebuilding a variety of heavy equipment. Maintenance will include work on brake systems, engines, power trains, steering and suspension systems, electrical and fuel systems. 

 

 

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Graham, you will:

 

  • Inspect concrete paving equipment including slip form pavers, trimmers, placers, in addition to other heavy construction equipment, to ensure proper performance
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance, and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on our equipment 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License and ability to pass DOT physical
  • Have at least 5 years of experience with off road construction equipment, field trucks and support equipment
  • Have troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Have written communication skills to complete daily service reports

 


Compensation and Benefits:

 

  • Salary: $80k-$95k per annum based on experience
