About The Role
Reporting to the BIM Manager and Pre-Construction Director, the Senior BIM Coordinator is responsible for aiding the Pre-Construction team on projects involving transit, healthcare, post-secondary or manufacturing, and with an immediate focus on a $400+ million dollar heavy rail transit project. This role is a full time permanent position.
As a Senior BIM Coordinator at Graham, some of your responsibilities will be:
- Follow the BIM execution plan, ensuring that the information is in line with the plan.
- Track BIM/VDC deliverables from trades and consultants and ensure they are provided in line with the plan.
- Follow the process for clash detection - provide models, sort, and prioritize.
- Set up Revit, Navisworks, etc. models.
- Verify and document coordinate system requirements.
- Create and name export views and export sets in Revit.
- Export data for use in other software packages.
- Generate model content (i.e. Revit families).
- Create federated Navisworks files.
- Export DWG format backgrounds from Revit.
- Participate in Coordination Meetings (clash meetings), supporting and providing information to support the project manager’s decision making.
- Run and publish Navisworks clash detection data for the project team.
- Process point cloud data on applicable projects.
- Create as-built model.
- Help the project manager by providing information (i.e. highlighting potential conflicts or risks) to help make educated and supported decisions on the project.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Completion of a degree or diploma training program at a college or technical school specializing in BIM.
- Autodesk certification, CANBIM certification, and construction association certification are all assets.
- Demonstrated general knowledge of and increasing familiarity with the core elements of a construction project, including systems, practices, and processes of project management.
- Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Primavera P6; Synchro, BIM360, and equivalent technologies are assets.
