About The Role
As a member of our growing Buildings team, the Scheduler (or Project Controls Specialist) is responsible for establishing project schedules for Buildings projects with oversight from the Project Controls Lead and maintaining project schedules of various complexity levels, preparing 3-week lookaheads, developing schedule performance reports and dashboards, assisting with extension of time claims, carrying out delay analyses with support from the team, and providing assistance with project budgeting, change management, and cash flows.
As a Scheduler at Graham, you will:
- Have the ability to read and understand construction drawings and project documents to develop the project master schedule.
- Have the ability to understand project scope and develop schedule Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Prepare the project baseline for for major projects and develop the master schedule in accordance with the contract requirements, company best practices and scheduling best practices using the Critical Path Method
- Cost and resource load the schedule
- Update project schedule at regular intervals, monitor and analyze changes to the schedule and the critical path.
- Have the ability to conduct schedule delay analysis to support the team
- Develop and issue short term look-ahead schedules
- Work to establish a positive rapport with the client (or client scheduling consultants) to approve and establish a project baseline schedule that reflects the project duration and project milestones as defined in the contract documents
- Determine and document the interfaces (inputs and outputs) between design, procurement, construction, and permitting
- Report schedule performance in the form of a regularly published Schedule Performance Report that contains progress dashboards
- Identify and communicate areas of risk and opportunity as it relates to the project schedule and participate in response planning.
- Propose corrective actions relating to production and lead discussions on such corrective actions, schedule mitigation measures, and resequencing with the project team.
- Prepare project schedule basis narrative with the RFP/Tender/Baseline schedule development and with each schedule update during the project execution.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Equivalent to completion of a diploma training program (Civil, Mech or Electrical) at a college or technical school; degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
- 2+ years of Planning / Scheduling experience on Commercial, Institutional and/or Manufacturing projects.
- Experience using Primavera P6 is required.
- PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, EIT, P.Eng., CCDA, and/or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) designation is an asset.
- Experience working on a civil or transit construction projects.
