Your Impact Starts Here

Graham is actively recruiting a Student Estimator to support the Buildings Division. Reporting to the Chief Estimator, the Student Estimator supports the estimating team on projects using standardized estimating tools and processes. With guidance from senior estimators, the role assists with determining project scopes, quantity take‑offs, costing, and managing deadlines, while developing the ability to interpret tender documents, collaborate with internal teams, and communicate effectively with trade partners.

This role represents an opportunity to join for an initial Fall Co-op term (4-months) while also entering consideration for a potential full time Jr Estimating role in Spring of 2027. Thus, students currently enrolled in an Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management program with both an interest in Estimating and a projected graduation date in Spring of 2027 will be ideal for this opportunity.

Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site

  • Support the estimating team with basic scope reviews, quantity take‑offs, and preliminary costing under the guidance of senior estimators
  • Assist in setting up estimates using standard company estimating tools and processes, including schedules and documentation support
  • Help review subcontractor pricing and tender documents to ensure scopes are complete and information is clearly organized
  • Participate in bid preparation activities, including estimate scheduling, risk identification support, and bid close activities with supervision
  • Learn and apply Graham’s safety, quality, and collaboration practices while working closely with estimators, operations teams, and trade partners

The Right Tools for the Job

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical), or a related technical field with a projected graduation date of Spring 2027.
  • Experience: Some construction or estimating‑related experience, including co‑op, internship, or summer student experience; prior field exposure is an asset but not required.
  • Skills: Strong interest in construction estimating, with developing skills in quantity take‑offs, basic costing, and interpreting drawings and tender documents and proficiency in MS Excel

Compensation

  • Salary Range $24 to $28 per hour
  • Salary will commensurate with education and experience
  • Vacation and statutory holiday pay paid out with every paycheque
  • Be an Owner, not just an Employee. Join a 100% employee-owned company where your contributions directly shape success and your future
