Graham is recruiting an Civil / Earthworks Estimator to support the Industrial Division. Reporting to the Estimating Director, the role supports or leads estimating efforts on higher‑complexity pursuits and may independently estimate Level 2 projects (under $25M) with senior oversight. The Estimator is responsible for scope definition, accurate quantity take‑offs and costing, meeting deadlines, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with internal teams and trade partners to develop competitive estimates using market knowledge and historical data.

 

Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site 

  • Prepare and deliver accurate, detailed cost estimates for projects up to $25M, including scope definition, quantity take‑offs, and full costing
  • Review drawings and tender documents to assess constructability, design options, risks, and cost‑saving opportunities
  • Develop competitive bids using historical data, benchmarking, subcontractor analysis, and participation in bid close activities
  • Plan and manage estimating schedules, milestones, and resources while supporting and guiding junior estimators
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to support successful project pursuits

 

The Right Tools for the Job 

Education & Experience: High school diploma plus post‑secondary diploma from a technical or construction‑related program, with 5+ years of construction experience combining field and estimating exposure

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction scopes, tender documents, drawings, and contracts, with proficiency in estimating, scheduling, and quantity take‑off software (e.g., Excel, Primavera, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, Agtek, BIM)

 Core Competencies: Excellent analytical, organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, assess risk, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and trade partners
