Graham is actively recruiting an Accounting Clerk to support our Industrial Group. Reporting to the Operations Finance Manager, this role provides accounting and transactional support for industrial construction projects throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include time entry, labour and equipment reporting, owner billings, subcontract administration, and project cost tracking. The Accounting Clerk also supports accounts receivable activities, collections, and cash application while ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, union agreements, and applicable tax legislation. Working closely with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Operations teams, this role contributes to the accurate and timely delivery of financial information that supports successful project execution.
Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site
- Perform project accounting and transactional activities, including time entry, labour and equipment reporting (LEMS), cost allocations, and month-end processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support project billing and subcontract administration by preparing progress billings, maintaining contract documentation, processing subcontractor requirements, and tracking change management records
- Assist with accounts receivable and cash management activities, including collections, cash application, account reconciliations, and cash flow reporting
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, contractual obligations, union agreements, and applicable tax regulations across all project accounting activities
- Partner with project and operations teams to support project setup, cost reporting, reconciliations, issue resolution, and the delivery of accurate financial information
The Right Tools for the Job
Education & Experience: High School Diploma required; post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred, with 2–5 years of accounting, project accounting, or construction industry experience
Technical Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles, project costing, accounts receivable, billing, and subcontract administration; proficiency with ERP systems (SAP experience considered an asset) and strong Microsoft Excel skills
Core Competencies: Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to manage competing priorities, support project teams, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced project environment
