Summary
As a critical member of Graham’s leadership team, the Vice President, Information Technology (VP IT) is responsible for the delivery of digital solutions across Graham. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this role oversees the development and implementation of technology strategies that enable operational excellence, enhance data security, improve efficiency, and support Graham’s growth.
The VP IT leads the enterprise applications, technology architecture, data management & analytics, cybersecurity and IT services activities. This role involves supporting technology initiatives, application licensing, integration, development, and ecosystem sustainability by managing technical teams. The VP IT will communicate technology challenges, opportunities, resource needs, schedules, and costs to support the business.
The VP IT will work collaboratively with the Senior Vice President, Continuous Improvement (VP CI) who has responsibility to work with operations and corporate service leaders to provide advisory services for intake and initiatives, support initiative management through business analytics and change management.
The VP IT will work collaboratively with the Vice President, Technology Adaptation (VP TA) who has responsibility to work with the operational teams to identify construction technology solutions that will drive operational excellence.
Essential Functions
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- In consultation with executive leadership, business and functional leadership and selective outside advisors as required, working together with the VP TA, lead the development and execution of the company-wide technology strategy that will meet Graham’s business goals.
- Oversee IT governance processes to ensure that investments align with business priorities and risk tolerance.
- Ensure the IT team is well-resourced, skilled, and aligned with a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Service Delivery
- Oversee Graham's technology ecosystem architecture, ensuring a robust and secure IT infrastructure and supports business operations across all Graham locations
- Manage the delivery of Graham’s licensing, development and technology integration strategy
- Manage the strategy, development and implementation of Graham’s enterprise data platform
- Develop and provide governance to Graham’s cybersecurity program, including data privacy and business continuity planning
- Manage Graham’s strategy for delivery of communications, storage, hardware and software and other support services
Systems Optimization and Efficiency
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and support of core business systems.
- Champion system integration and workflow automation initiatives.
- Partner with VP TA and VP CI to ensure delivery of systems that are user-centric and support performance.
- Drive modernization and with VP TA support the delivery of innovations and construction and engineering solutions that will drive operational value.
- Ensure vendor solutions deliver measurable value and are aligned with organizational needs.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted partner and advisor to leaders across the business.
- Active engagement with operational leaders and process owners to address gaps and opportunities identified
- Promote service excellence within the IT function, with a strong focus on internal client satisfaction.
- Provide technical support to initiatives within the IT function, with a strong focus on ensuring teams are following disciplined project management processes
- Communicate complex IT decisions and issues in a clear, accessible way for all stakeholders.
Team Development & Organizational Leadership
- Lead a team of IT professionals across infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and project delivery.
- Build a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team environment.
- Ensure succession planning, mentorship, and professional development are in place for all team members.
- Set expectations for high performance, accountability, and service orientation.
Education, Experience & Knowledge
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive IT leadership, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- Experience in a multi-site, cross-border organization, preferably in engineering or construction.
- Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, cloud), and vendor management.
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical strategy into business value.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, data governance, and risk frameworks.
- Experience in managing budgets over $25M and leading large, diverse IT teams.
Working Conditions
- This is an office-based leadership role, with occasional travel required to regional offices and field locations.
- Flexibility to manage across time zones and outside standard business hours to meet strategic and operational needs.
