Graham is actively recruiting for a Tax Analyst supporting the Corporate Services Division. Reporting to the Tax Director, the Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing and completing tax filings, handling all things tax-related under the Graham / Gvest / Gracorp umbrella, and maintaining a solid understanding of tax compliance, corporate returns, commodity tax returns, income tax, as well as cross-border tax implications
This is a permanent fulltime role with minimum 2-Days in our Corporate Office in Calgary.
Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site
- Ensure Graham’s compliance with the Canadian Income Tax Act by following the appropriate procedures and practices. This includes, but is not limited to, the preparation of Canadian corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns as well as foreign reporting and information returns.
- Prepare and analyze year-end income tax provisions for the consolidated financial statements and work closely with the Finance team to ensure accuracy of tax provisions and tax accounts.
- Assist with tax audits by Federal and Provincial income tax authorities and resolving any audit related issues, including preparing and maintaining supporting documentation for government audits.
- Remain current on tax regulations and how they impact the business and communicate any changes to the business and finance team.
- Follow Graham tax policies and procedures, identify new tax issues and impacts, and provide input and recommendations on those issues.
- Maintain up to date records regarding Graham’s adjusted cost base, at-risk amount and surplus calculations
- Assist with cross-border tax planning, corporate reorganizations, and restructuring.
The Right Tools for the Job
- Education: Degree in Commerce, Business, or a related field is preferred
- Certifications:
- CPA or equivalent professional designation
- Enrolled and/or interested in CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program, strong knowledge of ASPE / Canadian GAAP (IFRS exposure considered an asset)
- Experience: 2-4 years of progressive Canadian Corporate Tax Experience in a public accounting or other relevant industry experience
- Software: Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred with advanced excel and Taxprep software.
