About the role

 

Reporting to the Manager, Analytics Products. As a Data Product Manager for Graham’s IT & Enterprise Applications team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing a defined data product strategy; from conception, to launch and iterative evaluation. In this full-time role, you'll bring your expertise in managing data product development cycles and your interpersonal skills in managing the associated stakeholders contributing to the organization's technological and operational excellence.  

 

As a Data Product Manager on the IT & Enterprise Applications team at Graham you will:

 

  • Grow, manage and maintain positive relationships with Domain Owners, Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts. 
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to understand and document business requirements that align with Graham’s corporate goals. 
  • Conduct Lean Canvas and Wireframe workshops to bring requirements to life. Identify potential risks, estimate effort, and finalize the technical approach before development begins. 
  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Engineers, Designers and Visual developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Ensuring functionality aligns with both the business logic and user expectations. 
  • During the development process, act as a liaison between the Product Owner and development team to address roadblocks in a timely matter to ensure development stays on track. 
  • Assist Product Owners with their User Acceptance Testing plan. Emphasizing that testing should be focused on quality, completeness, accuracy, performance, and reliability. Ensure the testing plan addresses corporate standards and all in-scope end-user needs. 
  • Manage UAT cycles while acting as a primary point of contact for all testers. Feedback from UAT determines whether the solution is ready for deployment or needs further refinement. Obtain final written approval from Product Owners that final validation is complete and all real-world scenarios are addressed. 
  • Assist Product Owners with business communication of their products by defining communication plan and support product roll out. 
  • Ensure all data governance and supporting products are maintained as products are developed. 
  • Participate in planning sessions focused on product lifecycle, risk mitigation, and user adoption/change management strategies.  
  • Apply scrum methodology to adapt to changing project requirements with sustained momentum. 
  • Engage directly with the Product Owner and their team to assess their needs and ensure requirements identified will resolve their pain points and align with their workflow. 
  • Support Product Owners in end-user communication and training efforts to promote user adoption of new tools.

  • Expertly use wireframing software to create high-quality blueprints that align with identified requirements. 
  • Adhere to and advocate for company design standards and data industry best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all data products. 

 

Effective Communication 

  • Utilizing effective documentation, lean-canvas, wireframes to clearly articulate concepts, ideas, and rationale to both non-technical business partners and the technical development team. 
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback effectively, using it to refine and enhance solutions. 

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma or formal training in product management, engineering, computer science, or a related field. 
  • 3-5 years of previous experience in data product management. 
  • Experience working in an agile development environment. 
  • Proficient with wireframing tools (Figma, Balsamiq Wireframes, etc.). 
  • Experience in positions requiring data analysis and documentation of data products would be an asset. 
  • Experience in positions requiring management and communication of data science products would be an asset. 
  • Power BI development experience would be an asset.
