Manager, Operations Financial Planning & Analysis

 

About the Role

Join Graham as the Manager of Operations FP&A and play a pivotal role in melding strategic financial planning with hands-on operational execution. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, and in partnership with the Manager, Central FP&A, this position calls for an adept leader skilled in navigating operational complexities to provide financial insights, manage variance analysis, and drive comprehensive reporting and forecasting. Your expertise will underpin key business decisions across divisions and projects, ensuring financial strategies are effectively implemented and operational goals are met.

 

What You Will Do at Graham:

Financial Analysis & Modeling: Deliver insightful financial analysis to Business Unit and Divisional leaders, ensuring a deep understanding of their group's financial health. Develop and manage financial models geared towards operational scenarios to bolster strategic planning and risk management. Provide operational financial perspectives for capital planning and M&A activities.

Financial Reporting and Forecasting: You will oversee the aggregation of operational and overhead commentary monthly, translating data into actionable leadership insights and commentary. Guide business units and overhead groups in refining their financial forecasts and budgets, aligning with overarching financial objectives. In addition, you will oversee compliance and information requests to support internal reporting needs.

Performance Reporting: Craft and present detailed financial reports and dashboards to senior operations leadership, focusing on critical metrics and variances. Innovate by developing new performance metrics and management reports, closely tracking financial performance against organizational goals.

Collaboration & Leadership: Establish strong relationships with Operational Finance and Leadership to better support any financial reporting or analysis needs. Develop a cohesive relationship with the Manager, Central FP&A, ensuring strategic and operational financial strategies are aligned. Lead, mentor, and grow the Operations FP&A team, positioning finance as a critical partner in decision-making processes.

Process Oversight and Improvement: Lead efforts to refine and optimize FP&A processes, incorporating advanced technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and precision.

Presentation & Reporting Preparation: Help build executive level presentations and support writing commentary in Board reports as well as the MD&A.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

•A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant certifications preferred.

•Over 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally with exposure to the project-based or construction industries.

•Exceptional analytical understanding, capable of simplifying complex data into digestible and actionable insights.

•Proficiency in financial software and tools, with a keen interest in exploring new technologies and methodologies to advance financial analysis.
