Junior Financial Accountant - Gracorp

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Gracorp Finance Manager, the Junior Financial Accountant is responsible for providing accounting and transactional support for both Gracorp Properties LP and Gracorp Capital Advisors Ltd. (collectively, “Gracorp”) and all the funds and projects managed by Gracorp. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring that accounting processes and controls are being adhered to in accordance with company policies, and to ensure clear, accurate, consistent, and relevant financial information on a timely basis. 

 

As a Junior Financial Accountant at Graham you will:

 

  • Analyze accounts, prepare journal entries, and complete account reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation financial statements, reports, and analyses.
  • Complete transactional processes such as data entry, batch processing, and administration of relevant documentation.
  • Prepare complete and accurate transactional deliverables in a timely manner and provide all necessary backup.
  • Assist in the preparation of basic memos and presentations.
  • Adhere to procedures, internal controls, and external financial accounting standards and policies.
  • Manage less complex Open Item managed accounts.
  • Support the full cycle of month, quarter and year end close processes in a timely manner.
  • Perform billings and tracking of outstanding items across a portfolio of companies.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Commerce / Business / Accounting or a related field.
  • Working towards a recognized professional designation (CPA) is an asset.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a financial or related role. Open to new grads.  
  • Experience working with full cycle accounting and tax processes is preferred.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Deadline oriented.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Good understanding of financial statements and ability to perform basic financial analysis.
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite.
  • Experience working with ERP; SAP is preferred.
