Graham is actively recruiting a Financial Accountant supporting Gracorp. Reporting to the Senior Financial Manager, the Financial Accountant provides full accounting and financial support for Graham Income Trust and its subsidiaries, including Gracorp. The role is responsible for ensuring accounting processes and internal controls are followed in accordance with company policies to deliver accurate, consistent, and timely financial information. The incumbent is execution-focused while continuing to develop technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills, and serves as a key representative of the Financial Accounting function by building strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and contributing as a developing trusted business partner.
Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site
- Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Prepare and support financial reporting, including legal entity financial statements, board reports, variance analysis, and management reporting to support informed business decision-making
- Lead and oversee recurring transactional processes, including timesheet coordination and accounts payable processes for P3 entities, ensuring completeness and adherence to defined procedures
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax teams, joint venture partners, and other financial stakeholders to support audits, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, process efficiencies, and the maintenance of effective governance and internal control frameworks
The Right Tools for the Job
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance, with completion of a CPA designation or active enrollment toward completion
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a financial or accounting role, with hands-on exposure to full-cycle accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and audits; experience in construction, real estate, or public accounting environments is an asset
Technical Skills: Strong technical accounting skills and analytical ability, with knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, variance analysis, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, BPC, or EPM tools
