About the Role:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, HSEQ, the Electrical HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) Manager serves as the company's primary subject matter expert in all aspects of electrical safety, quality, and compliance, providing overarching support across all business units. This role is responsible for the continual development and management of the company's Electrical & Instrumentation Quality Manual and associated procedures, as well as the company’s HSE, E&I safe working practices & procedures, ensuring their alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project demands. The Electrical HSEQ Manager will guide and assist individual business areas in the effective implementation of all HSEQ-related practices & procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance throughout the organization.

 

Essential Functions:

Execution

  • Ensure that Quality processes are defined and in place to adequately cover project requirements and provide successful final closeout of projects.
  • Maintain relationships and communication tools as needed with suppliers and other key project personnel to verify that the quality of the supplied materials / services can be reasonably assured.
  • Develop and communicate the performance standards and metrics by which the quality will be measured.
  • Perform audits on project activities, ensuring compliance to company policies, processes, and procedures.  

Planning and Process

  • Assist with the RFP process, performing scope & specification reviews, identifying potential risk, and assisting with subsequent mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with the oversight of development and implementation of an organizational and responsibility matrix for the E&I Quality team.
  • Initiate and assist with the development of new Quality protocols and processes.
  • Establish and implement KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for monitoring the Quality system implementation and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accountability for communicating, leading, and lagging KPIs to the organization.
  • Develop regular status reports for company executives and project steering committees, detailing status of QMS and recommending actions to be taken.

Financial Accountabilities

  • Provide contributory support and input to the operations and corporate HSEQ budgets.

Client Focus

  • Establish and maintain relationships with Safety & Quality AOEs in public and private sector clients, construction joint-venture partners, and key specialist subcontractors, as well as other stakeholders such as design teams, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support Graham core values.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Execute written correspondence to external parties (clients, partners, government agencies, etc.) on behalf of the company.
  • Present information / reports to senior business unit leaders.
  • Seek new business opportunities through relationships.

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum High School Diploma, or equivalent, plus Master Electrician certification, Electrical Engineering or a related E&I Tech program diploma.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience on E&I projects.
  • Supervisor or Manager experience considered an asset.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Quality-related areas, including ISO 9001, CSA 22.1, related Electrical legislation (Canada & US), auditing, and data analysis.
  • Superior leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers.
  • Superior presentation skills and verbal / written communication skills.
  • Proven relationship-building and business development skills.
  • Proficiency using a computer and communication tools such as email, internet, and Microsoft products.

Working Conditions:

  • Most of the work is completed in the office, however regular travel to project sites are required.
