About The Role

 

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, the successful candidate will bring proven experience in strategic procurement as it relates to category management, strategic sourcing, contract life cycle and supplier relationship management. Category Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing & sustaining fit-for-purpose Category Management strategies across multiple categories.

 

As a Category Specialist at Graham, you will: 

  

  • Support the Senior Category Manager in delivering agreed upon objectives. 

  • By leading cross functional teams, develop and implement category management strategies across multiple categories in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and foster relationships with internal stakeholders to understand internal client requirements and implement the most appropriate supply chain solutions.

  • Spend data mining and analysis using Excel and Power BI. 

  • Strategic Sourcing of multiple categories as assigned.  

  • Negotiate, draft, execute, and implement Master Service Agreements (MSAs) with key suppliers.  

  • Deliver the value creation program, driving cost reduction/avoidance and operational efficiency/effectiveness. 

  • Prepare and support the placement of subcontract and material supply orders. 

  • Adhere to Graham supply chain strategies, processes, and procedures. 

  • Act as the liaison between internal stakeholders and key suppliers. 

  • Monitor and manage supplier performance by conducting regular vendor relationships meetings. 

  • Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviors that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Road to Zero. 

  • Demonstrate business professionalism that is in line with Graham’s core values of commitment, integrity, and reliability 

  • Willingness to problem-solve complex issues, finding an effective supply chain solution that works for all stakeholders involved.  

  • Other relevant duties as assigned by Senior Category Manager and other SCM Leaders.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or technical field. 

  • SCMP designations or pursuit of SCMP is an asset. 

  • 5-8 years of progressive supply chain experience with exposure to Category Management or Strategic Sourcing, and experience managing multiple categories.

  • Proven record of supply chain category strategy development and/or strategic sourcing. 

  • Ability to independently conduct RFx events, including but not limited to RFx drafting and issuance, supplier selection and evaluation, contract award recommendation. 

  • Experience in drafting contracts. 

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills. 

  • Ability to address internal client concerns in a timely manner. 

  • Strong relationship management skills. 

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. 

  • Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight and demanding deadlines. 

  • Proficiency using a computer and Microsoft Office, Power BI. Advanced Excel knowledge. SAP knowledge is a plus. 

  • Most of the work is completed at the corporate office, however occasional travel may required. 

  • Ability to comply with Graham’s work from home policy.
