Graham is actively recruiting an Accounting Clerk to support our Infrastructure Division. Reporting to the Operations Accountant, this role provides accounting and transactional support across project activities, including time entry, LEMS reporting, owner billings, subcontract administration, and accounts receivable. The position is responsible for executing tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, union agreements, and tax regulations. Working closely with Operations Project Coordinators, the Accounting Clerk builds strong working relationships, supports project financial processes, and proactively resolves issues to meet internal client expectations.
Your Role in Building What Matters – From Office to Site
- Execute core transactional accounting activities including month-end procedures, timekeeping, and maintaining accurate financial records
- Prepare and manage project billings and subcontract administration, ensuring all billings (including change orders) are complete, accurate, and submitted on time
- Support accounts receivable and cash management processes, including collections, payment deposits, and contributing to cash flow forecasting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and project controls by applying company policies, contractual requirements, and government regulations
- Provide financial and operational support to project teams through reconciliations, cost reporting, and assisting with project setup, billing, and contract administration
The Right Tools for the Job
Education & Experience: High School Diploma required; Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business preferred, with 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in construction or project-based environments
Technical Skills: Solid understanding of accounting and job costing principles, with proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Core Capabilities: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and effective communication skills to support project accounting and collaborate with stakeholders
