About the Role
Reporting to the Division Manager. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for healthy, safety and environmental on a project and can support multiple projects as a floating role. This individual is also responsible for monthly / weekly reporting, supporting operations in the day-to-day functions of Safety Management Systems.
As an HSE Coordinator at Moltz, you will:
- Take responsibility for own health, safety, and environmental protection, as well as that of direct reports, the general public, and visitors to the site(s).
- Conduct project-specific safety orientation with all workers and visitors new to the worksite prior to commencement of work on the project.
- Confirm that equipment inspections, preparation of reports, and follow-up on all noted deficiencies are completed.
- Report any noncompliant conditions to the project Superintendent / Supervisor responsible.
- Confirm through observations that the ERP and other related emergency documents, bulletins, and notices are posted and communicated to workers.
- Attend and participate in HSE meetings.
- Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify undesirable trends.
- Conduct project inspections with the project Superintendent and worker to support hazard identification.
- Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors.
- Interact with regulatory bodies and clients, taking a hands-on approach and acting as the point of contact.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
- Certification in Health and Safety, or a safety designation, is an asset.
- 1-2 years of experience in safety or a related field.
- Understanding of general constructability.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary- $73K - $80K per annum based on experience
