As a Carpenter Foreman you will:

  • Report to the Superintendent on site and are responsible for all work pertaining to the building, maintenance, alterations to bridges and related wooden structures.
  • Direct and coordinate TWI workers on site
  • Build and/or repair wooden structures on/or related to bridges using hand and power tools to facilitate the use of bridges and prolong their useful life
  • Construct wooden safety signs and barricades and establish them on work sites to control or redirect traffic
  • Erect and dismantle staging, scaffolding, riggings, ladders, etc. used to gain access to or provide support to structures under construction or repair
  • Work on or with masonry in connection with woodworking functions including mixing and pouring concrete, preparing surfaces for cement, operating masonry equipment, building forms and installing reinforcement rods and anchors
  • Perform related duties such as cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment; waterproofing bridge gutters, cleaning and lubricating expansion points; and repairing sidewalks

 

Requirement:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a Foreman
  • Hold a valid Journeyman ticket
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE) certification
  • AWP (OSSA Preferred)
  • Fall Protection (Ossa Preferred)
  • CSTS 2020
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
