Jardeg is recruiting for welder Apprentices to join the Cenovus Lloydminster team at the refinery in Alberta for projects. We have some 4-5 month positions starting February 24 and ending May 27. This would be a 9-on 5-off-10 hour per day rotation.

As a Welder Apprentice your key responsibilities include but is not limited to:

Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components
Make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and assist to weld parts, tools, machines and equipment
Assist welders in use of different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape, and requirements for finished product strength. Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints and work orders; clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch weld parts together.
Assist welders in setting up equipment, preparing tools.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Apprentice Welder certification.
  • Proven experience as an Apprentice Welder, preferably in industrial or construction settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials, tools, and installation techniques used in welding.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

 

  • Apprentice Welder Ticket
  • CSTS 2020
  • Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive
  • AWP
  • Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
  • WHMIS (2015)
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
