Schedule: 9 days on, 5 days off, 12 hours per day.

Jardeg is recruiting for a Welder Apprentice to join the Integrated Constructors team at the Cenovus Refinery in Lloydminster, AB . This is a temporary position on a 9/5 rotation, 12 hours per day.

 

Welders join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines, and equipment. Welders develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints, and work orders, as well as clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch and welding parts together.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch.
  • Weld parts together.
  • Tack-weld fitted parts together.
  • Straighten warped or bent parts, using sledges, hand torches, straightening presses, or bulldozers.
  • Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.

 

Requirements:

  • Welding Apprenticeship in good standing

  • CSTS-2020

  • Enerfy Safety Canada H2S Alive

  • WHMIS 2015

  • Aerial Work Platform

  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test

  • Valid Class 5 licence
