Graham has completed projects in BC ranging from the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Powell River Consolidated WWTP and the McLoughlin Point WWTP.

 

As a Civil Superintendent you will plan, organize and direct Graham Construction projects from the earliest stages in its life cycle. From earthworks to foundations to roads & bridges and complex concrete structures, you will lead your team to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget. You will be relied upon to manage, direct and most importantly mentor field personnel including junior Superintendents ensuring that your team is equipped to drive the projects forward.

 

Our Superintendents manage work from tenant improvements to JVs and P3s. If you are ready for the challenge, the team is waiting to meet you.

 

As a Superintendent you will:

  • Participate in preconstruction services on all negotiated project including development of site logistics, project schedule and phasing, design and constructability review and budget development.
  • Be responsible for site staffing, quality control, sub-trade coordination, project scheduling, field cost control and safety.
  • Determine the method of construction, materials quantities, equipment, work schedule and documentation of hours worked.
  • Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments and subcontractors.
  • Maintain relationships with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
  • Monitor compliance with company and site safety programs and documents, and ensures corrective measures are implemented.
  • Take an active role in the hiring, training, and monitoring field personnel.
  • Assist with preparation and facilitation of project meetings.
  • Assist project managers with resolution of outstanding claim items and with warranty.
  • In conjunction with the project manager, manage the project budget specifically as pertains to production on self-performed work.


Qualifications/Experience:

  • 5-10 years in construction with a particular skillset in executing mid/large scale structural concrete work.
  • Experience in building concrete water retaining structure is key.
  • Experience with Mechanical & Electrical installations is required.
  • Direct experience handling various concrete forming systems, a variety of temporary works / engineering applications
  • Direct experience managing / coordinating field execution resources, teams of trades upwards of 100-150 crew count.
  • Ideal candidate has access to an established group of field execution leaders and trades people, a willingness of these people to follow and develop within your team.
  • Comprehension of the complete life cycle of a water / wastewater treatment plant project, experience starting and finishing a complete plant is a key advantage.
  • Interested in being mobile and tackling challenging projects throughout BC.
  • Well-rounded understanding of Earthwork, Concrete, Process mech and Elec. – Can effectively plan with and integrate with these parallel project scopes.
  • Experience managing project field execution of a project on their own or as a lead Superintendent up to $25M.
  • Clear comprehension of project scheduling and planning principles.
  • Has a decent grasp on current / dynamic market conditions and challenges.
  • Solutions based attitude is key.
  • Steadier Job history with either company or Water related projects.
  • Wants to build a team that is mobile and can do work anywhere in BC.
  • Dual ticket and/or Millwright background would be an asset.


Compensation:

  • $105,000 - $137,500 per annum.
  • Salary will commeasurate with education and experience.
