We are currently recruiting Carpenters to join the team at the Sussex Residential Tower project in the Lower Mainland!
This $135 million dollar project is in the heart of Metrotown in Burnaby, BC and includes 285 units. The building also features a 4-storey wood framed building providing 53 rental units, located above a 4-level underground parking garage.
The position offers a great opportunity for long-term employment and works a Monday to Friday schedule with the possibility of overtime-afternoon, evenings/weekend work.
Responsibilities:
- Comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
- Understand industrial concrete forming, build concrete forms, and other structures
- Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
- Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
- Organization and site clean up as per site HSE standards
Requirements:
- Preference will be given to a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Fall Protection and Confined Space is an asset
- Light equipment operating experience an asset
- Ability to coach, mentor and train apprentices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
