Jardeg is recruiting Insulator Journeypersons and Apprentices to join the Quinn Constructors LTD. maintenance team at the NOVA Chemicals site in JOFFRE, Alberta. Come be a part of an outstanding team working with industry leaders that have been executing work at the Joffre site for over 20 years. Embrace a well-balanced schedule, working 6-days on and 1-day off rotation, with each workday consisting of 10 hours. This job will start May 21st and finish on June 26th 2024

 

NOVA Chemicals’ Joffre manufacturing facility is located just east of Red Deer, Alberta and is one the largest ethylene and polyethylene production complexes in the world. The site actually consists of five manufacturing facilities: three for ethylene production and two for polyethylene production.

 

Insulators apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (e.g., calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass) on all types of industrial equipment (e.g., duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).

 

LOA will apply for those living outside the 85km radius

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Install, maintain, and repair insulation on a variety of equipment, pipelines, vessels, and structures.
  • Safely and accurately use hand and power-operated tools and equipment relevant to the insulation trade.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to plan insulation projects effectively.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the installation, fitting, fabrication, and attachment of insulation, finishing, and weatherproofing materials to meet the highest standard of workmanship.
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine insulation requirements, select suitable materials, and implement efficient installation methods.
  • Ensure precise insulation thickness and proper fit to achieve optimal energy efficiency and safety.
  • Supervise, train, and coach apprentices, fostering their growth and development in the trade.
  • Coordinate insulation work with other trades on the job site to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and guidelines of the construction industry, prioritizing a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Describe insulation materials, their uses, and appropriate applications accurately.
  • Thoroughly understand and describe all systems requiring insulation within the scope of the project.
  • Perform assigned tasks in adherence to industry-required quality and production standards.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Journeyperson and Apprentice Insulator certification or Journeyperson proof of hours.
  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Insulator, preferably in industrial or construction settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insulation materials, tools, and installation techniques.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.
  • CSTS-2020
  • Energy Safety Canada (ESC) Certified Confined Space Entry
  • Energy Safety Canada (ESC) Certified Fall Protection
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
