Jardeg is recruiting Heavy Duty Mechanics for long term opportunities with the Nova Joffre Maintenance site in the Red Deer area.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Heavy Equipment Technician, Automotive Service Technician, or equivalent trade certification

  • Lead-Hand/Foreman experience considered an asset.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 3 Alberta Drivers’ License 

  • Able to meet conditions outlined on the Physical Demands Analysis

  • Pre-access Drug & Alcohol test

  • Training Required: CSTS 2020, ESC Fall Protection, ESC Confined Space

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot engine problems

  • SAP Experience an asset

  • Trouble shoot electrical and hydraulic problems

  • Plant equipment (forklift, manlifts, loaders, light plants) experience would be an asset.

  • Routine maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment – including tires and wheels

  • Inspection and repair of vehicle braking systems

  • Check all fluid levels of equipment

  • Performance evaluation of equipment

  • Follow safety rules and regulations

  • Good housekeeping and organizational skills

  • Actively participate in safety meetings

  • Report unsafe conditions

  • Ensure shop is secure at end of shift

  • Keep shop in good working order

  • Replace damaged shop equipment

  • Keep a record and day planner of ongoing jobs

  • SAP experience an asset
