Jardeg is recruiting Ironworker Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. This is a Turnaround event, starting on May 12th going until June 2, shifts are 12 hours, both days and nights on a 24/4 or a 6/1 rotation. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi and much more!. The positions are for our spring TURN AROUND STARTING IN MAY 12 to June 2.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • They erect structural steel components, install conveyors and robotic equipment, and sometimes perform reconstructive work on existing structures.
  • Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials. Assemble and erect pre-fabricated metal structures
  • Check the alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding them with an electric arc process.
  • Read and interpret reinforcing steel drawings and post tensioning drawings. 
  • Understand the basics of reinforcing steel and its safe usages.
  • Cut, place and tie reinforcing steel, utilize safe procedures for lifting, hoisting or moving loads.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Journeyperson Certificate Structural/Ornamental Ironworker
  • Energy Safety Canada CSO
  • Energy Safety Canada Confined Space
  • Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
  • Energy Safety Canada Wood Buffalo / Wildlife awareness
  • Basic Rigging - In Person
  • Overhead Crane - In Person
  • First Aid - Level A or C
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Satisfactory Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Mask Fit Test
  • Other Tickets may be required; to be determined by scope.
