Jardeg Construction is recruiting a Ironworker Journeyperson to join the Heartland Construtors Inc. maintenance team at SHELL Scotford maintenance scope near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This is a temporary position starting August 05th ending approximately December 31st, 2025, with a Monday to Thursday, 10 hours/day shift schedule with possible overtime offerings depending on the need.

 

As an Ironworker your key responsibilities include but is not limited to:

 

  • Erecting and installing scaffolding, construction cranes, derricks and other hoisting equipment. 

  • Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials. Assemble and erect pre-fabricated metal structures

  • Check the alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding them with an electric arc process.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Proven experience as a Journeyperson Ironworker, preferably in industrial or construction settings.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ironworker materials, tools, and installation techniques.

  • Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • CSTS-09 or CSTS-20 
  • ESC Fall Protection    
  • ESC Confined Space Entry & Monitor    
  • ESC Elevated Work Platform 
  • Journeyperson Ironworker (generalist, structural or ornamental) certification.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
