Jardeg is recruiting a Apprentice Welder for a temporary Welder Apprentice position at the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temporary night shift position on a 7 days on / 7 days off shift rotation, working 11.5 hours per day. The start date is December 25th and lasting for 3 months.  Camp accommodation is provided and flights are provided out of the Calgary or Edmonton flight hubs.

Welder Apprentice Requirements

 

  • Working knowledge of welding equipment involved with various welding procedures
  • Have thorough knowledge of metals, arc electrodes, welding gases and gas welding filter rods.
  • Use welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, or SAW to weld pressure piping.
  • Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components under supervision
  • Able to prepare, fit up and bridge tack weld pipe for SMAW/GTAW process.
  • Have a working knowledge of the welding equipment involved with various welding procedures

 

Requirements:

  • CSTS 09 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Satisfactory Completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Fire Watch
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space
  • Valid apprenticeship
