Jardeg is recruiting a Apprentice Welder for a temporary Welder Apprentice position at the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temporary night shift position on a 7 days on / 7 days off shift rotation, working 11.5 hours per day. The start date is December 25th and lasting for 3 months. Camp accommodation is provided and flights are provided out of the Calgary or Edmonton flight hubs.

Welder Apprentice Requirements

Working knowledge of welding equipment involved with various welding procedures
Have thorough knowledge of metals, arc electrodes, welding gases and gas welding filter rods.
Use welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, or SAW to weld pressure piping.
Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components under supervision
Able to prepare, fit up and bridge tack weld pipe for SMAW/GTAW process.
Have a working knowledge of the welding equipment involved with various welding procedures

Requirements:

CSTS 09 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
Satisfactory Completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
Fire Watch
Fall Protection
Confined Space
Valid apprenticeship
