Jardeg is recruiting Insulator Journeypersons to join Heartland Constructors maintenance team at the Suncor Firebag site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. The successful candidate would be working a 6/1 shift, 12 hours per day, for the duration of the turnaround until completion. Industrial Insulators apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation such as calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass, on all types of industrial equipment (duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train and coach apprentice insulators
- Demonstrate the installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of insulation, finishing and weatherproofing materials to a high standard of workmanship
- Able to use all hand and power operated equipment used by the insulation industry efficiently and safely
- Read and correctly interpret blueprints, specifications and building codes
- Thoroughly describe insulation materials and their uses
- Describe all systems requiring insulation
- Co-ordinate insulation work with other trades on the job site
- Comply with all safety regulations of the construction industry
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by industry
Minimum Requirements:
- Insulator Journeyperson Ticket or Proof of Hours (6480 hours) as an industrial insulator
- Energy Safety Canada CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
- Energy Safety Canada Approved Fall Protection
- Energy Safety Canada Approved Confined Space Entry & Monitor
- Energy Safety Canada Elevated Work Platform/Ariel Work Platform
- WHMIS 2015
- Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE)Training certification
- Class 5 Drivers License
- 3 years' Drivers Abstract
- Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
