Jardeg is recruiting an Instrumentation Technician Journeyperson to join the CNRL Horizon maintenance team. This is a permanent position with a 7/7 shift rotation with camp accomadations and flights from the Edmonton or Calgary flight hubs. This positon is working 11.5 hours per day. There is an overtime schedule implemented and will be reassessed for January 2023. The overtime schedule is time and a half after 8 hours worked per day and over 40 hours worked per week. 


Instrument Technicians install, maintain and repair the measuring and control devices used in industrial and commercial processing. Instrument Technicians work with a wide variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer devices used to measure and control pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.


Instrumentation Technicians will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:


  • Be able to take directions, and receptive to training and mentoring
  • Proficiently identify and work with various material components
  • Expert tubing skillsExpert in pneumatic, electronic and micro-computer instrument operation
  • Expert in device identification and installation
  • Expertly read and comprehend drawings and specifications
  • Expert tool usage
  • Expert level calibration knowledge
  • Expert knowledge of multiple control installations
  • Implement safe work practices and proceduresMaintain exceptional workmanship habits
  • Expert  in the usage of various calibration meters and measurement devices
  • Expert knowledge of Hazardous location requirements
  • Mentor junior apprentices

Minimum Requirements

  • Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal
  • Common Safety Orientation or CSTS-09Confined Space Entry
  • Fall Protection
  • Valid Driver's License
