Jardeg is recruiting a B Pressure Welder Journeyperson to join the CNRL Horizon maintenance team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a permanent position with camp accommodations and charter flights (from Calgary or Edmonton) provided by the company. This a 7 days on, 7 days off schedule working 11.5 hours per day. There is an overtime schedule in effect until the end of 2022 and will be reassessed in January 2023. The overtime schedule is time and a half for all hours worked over 8 hours per day and over 40 hours worked per week.


Welders join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment.



  • Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints and work orders.
  • Clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch.
  • Weld parts together.



  • All journeymen must have Alberta and/or Red Seal Trade certificate.
  • Alberta B Pressure ticket or equivalent if from another province.
  • BSO/CSO/OSSA regional orientation

Welding Tickets: (Hand Welder) (must be current and within 6 mths) 

Welding tickets and/or welder performance qualification testing required - as per HEARTLAND CONSTRUCTORS INC. Performance Qualification testing of welder’s guideline: 


  1. F3/F4, F6/F5, F3-F3 and CWB S or T-class if he is a hand welder we will test 661T / W1063 HFO on site
