Jardeg is recruiting a a Carpenter Journeyperson to join the SUNCOR Firebag Capital Project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temporary position straight through 12 hours/day shift schedule from April 30th until May 23rd, 2026

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Be able to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
  • Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
  • Complete finishing and rough carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
  • Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Experience working with mold and bed bug infestations.
  • Knowledge in the PPE requirements and work standards for this type of work will be required.
  • Dismantle and reassember camp rooms.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation). BSO & OSSA Regional Orientation also considered an equivalent. 
  • ESC Approved Fall Protection
  • ESC Approved Confined Space Entry & Monitor
  • WHMIS 2015  
  • Basic Rigging
  • H2S Awareness via Energy Safety Canada (if no ESC H2S Alive) via Energy Safety Canada
  • Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness Basic via Energy Safety Canada
  • Wood Buffalo Wildlife Intermediate - via Energy Safety Canada (must complete Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness first)
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
