Jardeg is recruiting Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to join the Heartland Constructors turnaround team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi, commissary and much more! The successful candidate would be working 11.5 hours per day, overtime after 6.5 hours. The turnaround execution will go approximately from May 8th, 2025 - May 28nd, 2025 on a 24/4 rotation.

 

Rope Access Technicians are used in a wide range of repair, maintenance, inspection and access work. Rope access methodology boasts an unrivalled safety record, short set-up and dismantling time, positive environmental benefits and removes the need for invasive access equipment or disruption to a worksite.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in rope access techniques and equipment
  • Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on structures and equipment at heights using rope access techniques.
  • Conduct rigging and rope systems for safe access and egress
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools and heavy equipment to complete assigned tasks
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and repairs

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • IRATA Level 3 Certification is required.
  • Satisfactory Completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Certified B-Pressure Welders, CWB Welders, Pipefitters, Insulators and Electricians are considered an asset.
  • Standard First Aid (Level C or A)
  • ESC Common Safety Orientation  
  • ESC Wood Buffalo / Wildlife Awareness  
  • ESC Confined Space & Monitor
  • Basic (Level 1) Rigging
  • Valid Driver’s License
