Jardeg is recruiting Pipefitter Journeyperson Rope Access Technicians to join the Heartland Constructors team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi and much more!. The positions are for our spring TURN AROUND STARTING IN MAY.

Pipefitter Rope Access Technicians used in a wide range of repair, maintenance, inspection and access work. Rope access methodology boasts an unrivalled safety record, short set-up and dismantling time, positive environmental benefits and removes the need for invasive access equipment or disruption to a worksite.

Steamfitter – pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.  Pipefitters also remove and replace worn components, do general maintenance work and may work on plant shut-downs.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
• Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.
• Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition.
• Follow various Heartland and Client policies & procedures including adherence to requirements of ISO 9001-2000. 

Minimum Requirements:

• IRATA Level 1, 2 or 3 Certification is required.
• Journeyperson Certificate of Completion in the Pipfitter Trade
• Energy Safety Canada CSO
• Energy Safety Canada Confined Space
• Energy Safety Canada Wood Buffalo / Wildlife awareness
• Basic Rigging - In Person
• Overhead Crane - In Person
• First Aid - Level A or C
• Valid Driver's License
• Satisfactory Drug and Alcohol Test
• Mask Fit Test
• Other Tickets may be required; to be determined by scope.
