Jardeg is recruiting Millwright Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors maintenance team at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi, commissary and much more! The successful candidate would be working 11.5 hours per day, straight time on a 14/14 rotation, starting April 9th.

 

As a Millwright Journeyperson your responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

 

  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
  • Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments
  • Perform predictive and operational procedures
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • May do some tack welding (a weld that is adequate in size to temporarily hold components in place until it can be completely welded by a registered apprentice welder or a Journeyperson welder) and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts

 

Qualifications: 

 
•    Valid Millwright Journeyperson certification
•    Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to industry regulations. 
•    Physical aptitude to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working at heights. 

  

Minimum Requirements: 

 

  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Standard First Aid (Level A or C), in-class 2 day course
  • ESC Wood Buffalo / Wildlife Awareness (online)
  • ESC Fall Protection
  • ESC Confined Space
  • ESC Mobile Elevated Work Platform
  • Basic Rigging (In person)
  • Satisfactory Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Mask Fit Test
  • Valid Canadian Driver’s License
  • Other safety ticket(s) and orientation(s) required, as per the project team
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
