Jardeg is recruiting for General Forepersons to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. team at the IOL KEARL site near Fort McKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided by the company from Calgary or Edmonton. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi, commissary and much more!

 

These positions are for our spring TURNAROUND STARTING IN APRIL working 11.5 hours per day on 14 days on 14 days off, all Straight time. For the main turnaround event the schedule will be 6 days on 1 day off, overtime eligible.

 

The General Foreperson is responsible for the organization, direction, supervision, and coordination of turnaround activities as outlined in the applicable project execution procedures, site specific safety plan and project execution plan.

 

As a General Foreperson, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Organize and coordinate activities on a job site. Align crews with adequate supervision and provide daily work instructions within area of supervision.
  • Coordinate Manpower movement within area of supervision. Ensure coverage for all shift rotations.    
  • Prepare a need assessment with the foremen in terms of equipment and materials. Work with Superintendent in requisitioning required items.
  • Monitors performance, progress, and productivity of the project, and ensures the alignment of the construction to the project plans and drawings.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment utilized have been inspected, in good repair, and color coded, as required.
  • Meet and review any issues, changes, or items out of scope from the field crew. Report these items to the Superintendent to requisition or create trend alerts.
  • Track and report daily progress against the Shift Work Assignment within the work package. Regularly communicate work progress, schedule variance, crew, and safety performance to the Discipline Superintendent.  
  • Approve and submit any invoice/timesheets which have business unit expenditures to the appropriate project. Ensure daily progress reports have been submitted by Foremen on shift. "

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years’ experience within Industrial or Commercial Construction Projects.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity and pipefitting or welding trade experience
  • Journeyperson Trade Certification in pipefitting or welding trade.
  • A good understanding of scheduling software

  • Standard First Aid Level A or C CPR & AED (2 days)

  • ESC Confined Space & Monitor
  • ESC Fall Protection
  • Basic Rigging
  • Valid Driver’s License
