Jardeg is hiring Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeypersons to work at the Imperial Oil Kearl Lake site near Fort MacKay, Alberta. The shift schedule is 14 days on, 14 days off.
Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeypersons maintain, repair and overhaul heavy vehicles and industrial equipment. Heavy lifting is required.
Maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment may include:
- Hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment and sizes including CAT/Komatsu/Hitachi/etc.
- Large scale overhauls and rebuilds.
- Replacing components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
- Preventive maintenance and services.
- Complete work according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Work closely with customers maintenance and operations personnel.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
- Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations.
- Complete service reports.
Position Qualifications
Training and Experience Requirements:
- Journeyperson Certificate (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Mine Equipement experience - Large graders, shovels, dozers (D-9 - D-11's), haul trucks (797's) and other related equipment.
- Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation
- Truck Mounted Crane.
- Basic Rigging - In Person
- Energy Safety Canada Aerial Work Platform.
- Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection.
- First Aid – Standard Level Certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to understand hydraulic and electronic schematics.
Preferred
- Telehandler Certificate.
- Forklift Certificate.
