We are currently recruiting for Carpenters (2nd Apprentice to Journeyperson) to join the team at the Terwillegar & Whitemud Drive project in Edmonton!

This position is in Edmonton, AB and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.

Shift is 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime if needed

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be able to comprehend blueprints, and prepare layouts
  • Understand concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
  • Look for, and fix deficiencies
  • Checks accuracy of work
  • Able to plan work
  • Familiar with concrete pours, pour Hts., elevations, etc.
  • Build scaffolding, and ladders for temporary work platforms above ground level
  • Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • Follows Company Policies in regard to safety Absolutes and Documenting Safety Paperwork i.e. FLRA’s etc.

 

Requirements:

  • Preference will be given to a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
  • Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
  • Fall Protection is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
