Jardeg is currently recruiting for a Carpenter Apprentice to join the Spruce Grove Composite High School project team in Spruce Grove, AB!
 
The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday. The shift may include extended hours and weekends, as required by the site. 
 
As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will:
 
  • Build forms for concrete
  • Cut, shape, and join
  • Look for and fix deficiencies
  • Building of hoarding and other temporary structures
  • Check accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
  • Study blueprints for work planning
  • Using various hand tools (knowledge & experience with)
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
  • Inform immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • Perform labourer duties in addition to carpentry work
 
Requirements:
 
  • Preference will be given to Registered Carpenter Apprentices (3rd to 4th Years) from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade 
  • Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
  • Fall Protection is an asset
  • Experience with working at heights near leading edges is a strong asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
