We are currently recruiting Apprentice Carpenters (2nd to 4th Year) for the 50th Street & Whitemud Drive project in Edmonton!
This position is in Edmonton, AB and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.
Shift is 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime if needed
Responsibilities:
- Be able to comprehend blueprints, and prepare layouts
- Understand concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
- Look for, and fix deficiencies
- Checks accuracy of work
- Able to plan work
- Familiar with concrete Pours, Pour Hts. Elevations Etc.
- Build scaffolding, and ladders for Temporary work platforms above ground level
- Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
- Follows Company Policies in regard to safety Absolutes and Documenting Safety Paperwork i.e. FLRA’s etc.
Requirements:
- Be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
- Fall Protection is an asset
- AWP is an asset
- Experience operating a skid steer is considered an asset
- Ability to coach, mentor, and train apprentices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
