We are currently recruiting for an Entry-Level Traffic Control Person to join the OMC4 - Skytrain and Maintenance Facility team in Coquitlam, BC!
This position is in Coquitlam, BC and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.
This is a 5 days on and 2 days off schedule, working 8 hours per day with the possibility of overtime, as per site needs.
Duties:
- Monitoring of daily activities and traffic control schedule
- Direct the flow of traffic around construction sites using signs, hand signals, and communication devices
- Stay alert and aware of surroundings, weather conditions, and potential hazards
- Setting up and removing of traffic control equipment within a construction site area, including pylons, signage, and barricades
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with traffic safety regulations
- Communication with the construction crews and general public
- Will be required to adhere to company safety standards, policies, and guidelines
Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Traffic Control Certification is an asset
- Must be familiar with standard traffic laws as required for a Class 5 driver’s licence
- CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 are an asset, and training can be provided during on‑site development
- Can work in a fast-paced work environment
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
- Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada
- CSA steel‑toed boots and winter‑appropriate clothing required. All other PPE is provided
- Demonstrate punctuality and excellent attendance for all shifts
