Jardeg is recruiting for a Sandblaster to join the team in the Shop that is located in Coquitlam, BC!
This position is in a shop environment. In this role you will be sandblasting and working with new builds, raw materials (raw steel), trucks, trailers, and other types of equipment.
This position is in Coquitlam, BC and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare surfaces and/or mask components for painting/coating; remove paint, rust, debris using high-pressure streams of abrasive materials
- Operate sandblasting machines; adjust settings to manage pressure of abrasive mixture
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality standards are met; must have a keen eye for detail
- Adhere to safety protocols; wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Knowledge of loading and clean-out of media; troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Maintain and clean the sandblasting equipment at regular intervals to ensure safe, effective operation
- Safely operate power tools and hand tools
- Complete general shop maintenance and clean-up as required
Minimum requirements:
- 2 years of relevant shop experience considered an asset
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
- Forklift certificate an asset
- Driver’s License preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
